Road Construction Projects Underway
The Town of High Level has begun its 2022 road construction projects. The two projects currently underway are the continuation of the sidewalk on 97 Street and the remediation of Rainbow Boulevard.
97 Street
The 97 Street project involves continuing the sidewalk on the west side of the service road from True North Ford to 105 Avenue. This will complete the pedestrian sidewalk loop in that part of the community. The project will also define a turning lane for right hand turns onto 105 Avenue. Construction crews will be removing the existing curb and gutter and placing forms for the new sidewalk. Once the sidewalk is finished, the road will be repaired where it was cut for construction.
This project is expected to be complete by the third week in October.
Rainbow Boulevard
The Rainbow Boulevard project is much broader in scope. It involves repair and replacement of the sidewalk and curb and gutter on both sides of the road, replacement of the road surface, and remediation of the boulevards on either side of the road. This project will include replacing the drainage swale on Chinchaga Drive, extending the sidewalk to Highway 58 west, and repairing Rainbow Boulevard and 98 Street (the street between The Brick and Mobil). Construction crews have begun removing the old concrete along this road and placing forms for the new sidewalk and curbs. Once the concrete work is complete, the rods will be milled (shaved down to allow for the new surface) and the road will be repaved.
This project is expected to be complete by the third week in October.

inconvenience is temporary, and the improved roads benefit the whole community.
