UPDATE: The Peace Regional RCMP says the owner of the kayak has been found, and no one is believed to be missing on the Peace River.

The Peace Regional RCMP is looking for the owner of a kayak found on the Peace River this morning.
The detachment learned of an empty kayak on the river just before noon.
The Peace River Fire Department was called in and recovered the kayak around a kilometres south of the bridge project on the river.
The Mounties are asking the owner to come forward, or if anyone in the area knows of any overdue travellers who may have disembarked in the region.
