RCMP officers in Peace River were busy yesterday dealing with several reports of thefts from motor vehicles.
A total of seven reports came from the areas of 71 Avenue, 75 Avenue, 98 Avenue and 100 Street where throughout the night, suspects entered vehicles and stole various items within them.
Residents in the area are asked to review their security cameras and should there be any footage you feel would be helpful, contact Peace Regional RCMP.
RCMP would like to encourage community members of some simple safety tips which help prevent you from falling victims to crimes of opportunity:
– Lock your vehicle doors
– Do not keep important documents with personal identifying information in your vehicle
– Remove all valuables
– Remove electronics and moneys from your vehicle
– Do not leave keys for the vehicle, your home, your work and more in your vehicle
– Park your vehicle in lighted areas or where security cameras are present if possible
At this time, no surveillance is available.
