The RCMP Major Crimes Unit and Slave Lake RCMP are investigating after human remains were found in the rural area close to the Town of Slave Lake.
Police first responded to the report of found human remains on October 6, and police say an autopsy will take place today in Edmonton. RCMP are asking anyone who may have noticed any unusual activity in the area to contact the Slave Lake detachment at 780-849-3999, or crime stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
RCMP say an update on the investigation will be provided later this week.
