RCMP catches suspect that had been evading police

After being wanted by the RCMP for 23 days, Bradley Duff has been caught.

The Grande Prairie Detachment was notified yesterday morning at around 8:30 of a break-and-enter to a rural business east of the city.

There were additional complaints of the suspect vandalizing the business and apparently attacking the complainant.

He stole a jeep and headed west towards Beaverlodge.

The Beaverlodge Detachment then found the jeep and attempted to contain it.

Duff attempted to flee east on Highway 43 but tire spikes were used.

He tried to run from officers but they caught up to him and he was taken into custody.

He is wanted on several warrants from various jurisdictions, including a two incidents in High Prairie.

As a result of the incidents on Canada Day, Duff is facing the following charges:

  • Flight from police (x2)
  • Resist a peace officer
  • Assault
  • Operate a conveyance in a manner that was dangerous to the public
  • Operate a conveyance while prohibited from doing so
  • Possession of stolen property under $5,000 (x2)
  • Possession of stolen property over $5,000

Following a judicial hearing, Duff did not speak to bail and was remanded into custody to attend court on August 5, 2020, in Grande Prairie Provincial Court.
