The Peace River School Division now has it’s at-home learning plan finalized.

Superintendent Paul Bennett says their plan will have students participating in their classes on-line at the same time that the regular classes are taking place.

“So in some cases, some teachers in grade five would have no students participating from home and in some cases they would have very low numbers, maybe one or two. Those students will be joined through technology, likely Google classroom, and it will be synchronized teaching the learning that is going on.

Bennett says right now they have around 150 students signed up to do on-line learning.

He adds that there will be some opportunities for students to switch back to in-class learning and vice-versa.

“If they want to leave at-home learning and go back into the school, we’ll allow that at any time. We have set some guidelines for the other way around. If they want to commence at-home learning, we have set dates for that depending on whether it’s K-6 or 7-12.”

Entry points to commence at-home learning are as follows:

Grades K-6: November 13, 2020, January 4, 2021, and March 12, 2021.
Grades 7-12: November 6, 2020, February 1, 2021, and April 16, 2021.
