The Peace River Pride Society is set to host its annual Pride this weekend in Peace River.
As part of the celebrations, a rainbow crosswalk was painted near Kinsmen Park.
However, social media reports suggest that the crosswalk was vandalized shortly after its completion.
This incident highlights ongoing divisions in public opinion regarding LGBTQ+ acceptance.
It also coincides with recent provincial debates over legislation affecting transgender youth and discussions about gender-diverse materials in public libraries, such as those in Valleyview.
