Town of Peace River Administration is proposing new utility rates for 2025 covering water, wastewater, and solid waste services.
Council approved the first reading, aiming for full cost recovery over the next five years. This would mean annual increases of 9.7% for water and 10.1% for sewer rates from 2025 to 2029, based on recommendations from a rate analysis by InterGroup for our utility fund to be self-liquidating.
The proposed rate increases will support our capital budget, enabling us to invest in infrastructure upgrades while reducing dependency on debt financing, which is especially helpful if interest rates rise when we face significant needs.
