Peace Regional RCMP seek public assistance with information on stolen vehicle

Peace River, Alta. – On May. 3. 2025, Peace Regional RCMP responded to a report of a stolen vehicle with ongoing sightings in the area.

Sometime during the day of May. 3, 2025, a 2008 dark green BMW was stolen from the area of Highway 2 in Nampa, Alta.

The owner had been alerted by diligent community members, that their home appeared broken into, which is when it was realized that the vehicle was also missing.

Peace Regional RCMP were made aware of the stolen vehicle, and learned that several community members had spotted it in and around Peace River, eventually leading to it being located in the area of 101 Avenue, near the area of the Peace River Hospital, however, no suspect was located.

RCMP are looking for information from any community members who witnessed the vehicle at any point, or may have seen the driver of the vehicle as much of this information was not relayed to RCMP directly.

RCMP would like to send a reminder to community members, that there is significant risk when dealing with stolen vehicles.  Police are trained for these situations and carry intervention options to protect themselves and the community against those willing to commit crimes; actively engaging with someone in possession of stolen vehicle can put you at great risk.  There is no telling what the mental state of someone is who has stolen a vehicle, and what they may be willing to do to avoid apprehension, so extreme caution is suggested in these situations.

This investigation is still ongoing and RCMP would like to extend gratitude to community members for their assistance thus far.

The Peace Regional RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the location of, or sightings of this vehicle or any suspect(s) on May. 3, 2025. Anyone with information in relation to this event or any other stolen vehicles, are asked to please contact the Peace Regional RCMP at 780-624-6611 or your local police.  If you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8377 (TIPS), online at www.P3Tips.com or by using the “P3 Tips” app available through the Apple App or Google Play Store.
