Peace River RCMP respond to a break and enter in progress

Peace River, Alta. – On Aug. 22, 2023, Peace River RCMP responded to a break and enter in progress near 100 avenue in Peace River. Peace River RCMP arrested a young person in relation to this event. At the time of this event, the young person was bound by conditions of release stemming from previous charges and was also being sought on outstanding warrants for their arrest.

As a result of the investigation, Peace River RCMP seized multiple stolen items, including three bags. The bags had multiple tools and other items. Peace River RCMP located the owner of one of the bags and require public assistance to find the owner(s) of the other two.

Peace River RCMP also charged the young person with:

  • Break and enter;
  • Failure to comply with release order (x2);
  • Failure to comply with probation;
  • Resisting arrest;
  • Possession of stolen property under $5000;
  • Theft under $5000; and
  • Mischief under $5000 (x2).

The young person was brought before a Justice of the Peace and was remanded into custody pending their next court date, set for Aug. 28, 2023, at the Alberta Youth Justice Court in Peace River.

Peace River RCMP is also seeking public assistance to identify the owner(s) of the two remaining bags and stolen goods.
