A 30-year-old man is facing four charges after the RCMP were patrolling the north end of Peace River early Saturday morning.
The Peace Regional RCMP says it was conducting proactive patrols in the area and stopped a passenger vehicle at around 1:30.
Officers ended up seizing various quantities of suspected cocaine and methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia, Canadian currency, and other items used to facilitate the sale of illicit drugs.
Police also confiscated weapons including pepper spray, and other items typically used for property-related crimes.
The suspect will be in a Peace River provincial courtroom on July 20 to answer to the following charges:
- Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of break-in instruments
