Peace River MLA Dan Williams was on the Trending 55 Hot Seat to talk about some issues affecting the local riding.
One topic we discussed was the refurbishment of the old bridge in the Town of Peace River with Williams telling the newsroom that work on that will get underway this spring.
“Between this construction season and next, they’re going to be doing $40 million worth of bridge rehab, painting and that kind of stuff to make sure that the bridge stays in tip-top shape and continues to serve the community for decades to come. Not only do we have the new bridge, we’re going to have a revamped and rehabilitated old bridge as well.”
With recent health restrictions impacting local businesses, we also talked about the importance of supporting local right now.
“I’m asking everyone to support the local businesses, particularly restaurants, in any way that they can. They’ve been hit so hard through this over and over again by the horrible way that this has wreaked havoc on our society. Restaurants, gyms, recreation facilities, it has been incredibly difficult for these folks so any way that we can support them, we should.”
