In the last weekend of October, Chad Burns became the Jet Boat World Champion in the Jet Boat World Championships in Mexico. Burns competed against two time world champion, Gord Humphrey, from Fort St. John, British Columbia, to secure the win.
Next year, the world championships will be held in Whitecourt, Peace River, Grande Prairie and Taylor, British Columbia. Burns will be defending his title next year. Burns looks forward to having the championships be held in Peace River. He says that “it will be nice to see the support that the community gives to the boat races and that it will bring a lot of money and people from different countries to town.”
