The Paskwa Fire is now over 70,000 hectares in size and it’s now less than 10 kilometres away from the community of Garden River.
Crews will be in that area battling that part of the fire, but residents in that community are being told to be on alert.
Work is also still continuing in Fox Lake in both dealing with hot spots and preparing for a possible re-entry for evacuees to the community.
Officials with the Little Red River Cree Nation say there is no timeline right now for when that could occur.
There are firefighters, helicopters and heavy equipment working on this wildfire.
As for the weather in the area, Environment Canada says there is a chance of showers for Garden River for today and tonight but no other precipitation is forecasted for the rest of the week.
