NWJHL Regular Season Begins Today

The regular season is set to start today for the Northwest Junior Hockey League (NWJHL).

The North Peace Navigators, last season’s runners-up, begin play at the Baytex Energy Centre at 8 PM, when they play host to the County of Grande Prairie JDA Kings.

The Navs also have a game tomorrow night, when they travel to Dawson Creek to take on the Junior Canucks.

North Peace played two exhibition games earlier this month, but the scoring didn’t look so great. On September 15, they fell 6-3 to the Kings. The next day, they lost 5-4 to the Sexsmith Vipers.

Meanwhile, the 2017 Champions, the Fairview Flyers, still have one more exhibition game to play tomorrow. They’re at home at the Fairplex tomorrow night to take on the Beaverlodge Blades at 8 PM. They played two other pre-season games earlier in the month, falling 2-1 in overtime to the Vipers on September 15, and 5-4 to the Junior Canucks on the 16th.

The Flyers are set to begin their regular season on Friday, September 29, when they host the Navs at the Fairplex at 8 PM.
