It’s becoming a familiar scene in McLennan, a lack of doctors in the Sacred Heart Community Health Centre emergency department.
Alberta Health Services says there won’t be a doctor there from this morning until Thursday morning at 7 AM.
Nursing staff will remain on-site to provide inpatient care, along with one local physician in the community.
When there isn’t a doctor at Sacred Heart, EMS calls will be rerouted to the High Prairie Health Complex.
AHS says patients seeking care at the ED in McLennan may also be made aware of services available through local pharmacies, depending on their needs.
Residents are also asked to call 811 for non medical emergency situations.
