Town of Fairview Fire (located near the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall located at 11621 100 street):
– Flareup is EXTINGUISHED
PMD003 (Between Range Road 25 and Range Road 32 north of Township Road 824):
– FIRE IS HELD, but is NOT UNDER CONTROL
FIRE DANGER IS EXTREME – the continued hot, dry conditions has led to an increase of fire activity. Wildfires burn deep into the ground and current conditions are the perfect recipe for frequent flareups. Firefighting efforts are ongoing and additional resources are being acquired to provide much needed assistance. Crews are monitoring the fire area and extinguishing flareups as needed; heavy equipment is at multiple locations constructing precautionary firebreaks.

STATE OF LOCAL EMERGENCY REMAINS IN EFFECT – The Municipal District of Fairview No. 136 may issue an evacuation Alert or Order when there is reason to believe you are in danger. Instructions provided in the Alert or Order will depend on the threat.
– Evacuation Alert: Evacuation alerts help you prepare to leave on short notice. Take the actions directed, be prepared to go quickly and monitor trusted sources of information for updates.
– Evacuation Order: Evacuation orders are issued when you are in danger. If you are located inside an order’s boundaries and directed to evacuate, leave the area immediately. Follow all directions from authorities, stay tuned to local trusted sources of information for updates. In serious situations, an evacuation order will be issued without an evacuation alert.
Evacuation Alerts or Orders will be issued on the municipal website and social media and if criteria are met, may be issued using the Alberta Emergency Alert (AEA) system.
