Man In Custody After Police Chase Near Spirit River

A man from Peace River is facing charges after a police chase involving a stolen vehicle that happened on Friday night.

It started when Spirit River RCMP received a call of a suspicious vehicle at the Rycroft UFA that was suspected to be stolen.

Officers went to speak to the driver of the heavy duty pick-up truck, that’s when the suspect drove the pick-up forward, hitting the front of the police vehicle.

Despite verbal direction from officers to stop, the suspect struck the police vehicle again, then hit an occupied vehicle in the parking lot, before fleeing the area.
