Central Peace-Notley MLA Todd Loewen says the government has a lot of work to do this year.
With a provincial election likely to happen this spring, he says there are some issues that need addressed.
“One of the main issues that Albertans are facing right now is the affordability crisis with the increase in inflation. Our government has come up with some plans to help alleviate some of those concerns. There’s also a lot of concern around health care in the province and that’s understandable and we’re working on that too. We still have a federal government that wants to interfere in Alberta’s business all the time and make life tougher for Albertans.”
Albertans are currently scheduled to go to the polls on May 29.
Loewen is also the Province’s Minister of Forestry, Parks and Tourism, and he says the forestry sector is doing well right now.
“The prices of lumber have come down quite a bit so there might be a little bit of a stress factor going on there. In recent history over the last couple of years, there’s been some very high prices too, but we’re always conscious of making sure the forest companies have a stable timber supply, I think that’s most important.”
We talked to Loewen about several different topics, you can hear that full discussion below.
