A number of changes are coming to provincial parks in the area.
One new park is being created, Kleskun Hills Provincial Park near Bezanson, from previously purchased private land.
Meanwhile the Fort Vermillion Provincial Recreation Area is being designated as public land, something Mackenzie County Reeve Josh Knelson says has “been in the works for years.”
Also being redesignated is the Little Smoky Provincial Recreation Area.
Forestry and Park Minister Todd Loewen says the changes will “enhance the ability to access and enjoy our province’s outdoor spaces without impacting recreational use.”
