Peace River, Alta. – On July 8, 2023, Peace River RCMP received multiple reports of hit and runs in and around Peace River. Officers located vehicle which subsequently fled Peace River. The vehicle was later found abandoned stuck in a rural location outside of Peace River. The police search for the suspect was unsuccessful at the time. Later in the day, following information from the public, suspect was later found and arrested at a residence near Harmon Valley, Alta.
As a result of the investigation, RCMP have charged Linden Ominayak (29), resident of Little Buffalo, Alta., with;
- Flight from police
- Dangerous driving
- Resist arrest
Ominayak was brought before a Justice of the Peace and released from custody with his next court appearance date set for July 31, 2023 at Alberta Court of Justice in Peace River.
