Investigation into stolen vehicle leads to drugs and weapons charges

Two adults and a youth are facing several charges after an investigation into a stolen vehicle.

According to the High Prairie RCMP, it was notified of a vehicle being stolen from the Grouard area on June 11.

The following day, the detachment got a complaint that led officers to recovering the vehicle in question and the arrest of three suspects.

Police ended up seizing: a hand gun, drug trafficking paraphernalia, a quantity of money and methamphetamine.

Silas Joshua Thunder, 29, of Edmonton is charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
  • Possession of stolen property not exceeding $5,000
  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

Cheris Thea Gladue, 23, of Atikameg First Nation is charged with:

  • Possession of stolen property not exceeding $5,000

A 17-year-old youth from the Gift Lake Metis Settlement, who cannot be named subject to the limitations of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with:

  • Possession of stolen property not exceeding $5,000

The suspects have been released and will be in court in High Prairie on August 24.
