Today, we had a chance to chat with the Speaker of the Alberta Legislature, Nathan Cooper.
Whenever the speaker checks in, we always like to ask about certain legislative rules and procedures.
With the provincial budget set to be tabled later this month, Cooper explains the process and all the work that does into preparing the financial blueprint for a province.
We also talk about an exchange in the legislature with Peace River MLA Dan Williams “begging” the speaker to vote for a bill, so we ask about situations where the speaker could vote on a bill.
