High Level RCMP responds to armed robbery
High Level, Alta. – On Dec. 30, 2023, at approximately 6:45 p.m., High Level RCMP received a report of four masked people entering the Caesars Liquor Store on 100 ave in High Level. One of the masked individuals pointed a firearm at the employee and demanded the cash in the till. The other three individuals proceeded to gather numerous amounts of alcoholic beverages and run out of the store.
High Level RCMP responded and contained the area. Several suspects were located thanks to descriptions provided by witnesses and CCTV footage. A search warrant was conducted on a residence in High Level.
As a result of the investigation, Elvis Metsikassus (19), was charged with Armed robbery. Metsikassus was brought before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody. His next court date is Jan. 15, 2024, at the Alberta Court of Justice in High Level.
No members of the public or suspects were injured during the incident or the arrest. High Level RCMP would like to thank members of the public for their assistance.
