High Prairie RCMP Looking For Wanted Man

High Prairie RCMP are looking for a man from Grouard wanted for flight from police.

Officers attempted a traffic stop on September 18 on a vehicle being driven by Shian Wells (24), who was known to be wanted on outstanding warrants. The vehicle failed to stop and Wells continued to drive north of High Prairie.

The vehicle Wells was driving was eventually located on a dead end dirt road and police attempted a high-risk traffic stop. Wells then put his vehicle in reverse and hit the police vehicle, causing minor injury to an RCMP officer.

Wells is facing the following additional charges as a result of the Sept. 18, 2020, events:

· Flight from police
· Operate a conveyance in a manner dangerous to the public
· Operate a conveyance involved in an accident and fail to stop and offer assistance
· Assault police with a weapon (x2)
· Fail to comply with release order (x2)
· Fail to comply with Undertaking

According to police, Wells is active in the communities of High Prairie, Barrhead, Grouard, Gift Lake and Westlock.

He’s described as:

· 5’11” tall
· 170 lbs.
· Brown hair
· Brown eyes
· Metis
· Several tattoos on his face, including the batman symbol located under his left eye.

High Prairie RCMP are asking for the public assistance in locating Shian Wells. If anyone has information regarding Wells’ whereabouts, or if he is seen—do not approach as he is considered dangerous.
