At its April 28, 2025 meeting, the Town of High Level Council approved the 2025 Property Tax Rate Bylaw, introducing slight increases for both residential and non-residential properties.
The bylaw aims to generate $7.57 million in municipal revenues to support the town’s operating budget.
Mayor Crystal McAteer emphasized the importance of balancing growth, inflation, and fairness in setting the rates.
Residential property assessments saw a 2% growth in new developments and a 2.04% inflationary increase, while non-residential properties experienced a 3.69% growth in new assessments and a 1.01% increase in existing values.
The residential mill rate will rise to 14.1239, and the non-residential rate to 18.0564.
Tax notices will be mailed on May 16, with a payment deadline of June 30, 2025.
