The Town of High Level is mourning the loss of a man who devoted over 20 years of his life to public service.

The town announced the passing of Councillor, Ellis Forest last week.

Forest severed on town council for five years in the 1970’s, according to a statement from the town, and has been serving on council since winning a by-election in 2002.

Forest was born in 1940 before coming to High Level in the 1960’s.

He has a vast background in business and industry working in the oilfield, construction as well as agriculture.

Flags in High Level are being flown at half-mast to honour Forest’s legacy.
