The Holy Family Catholic Regional Division has put in place a new health and safety program that focuses on emergency preparedness and responses.

HFCRD has teamed up with Hour Zero, a company that provides schools with tools for things like managing incident reporting, safety training, and emergency planning.

“There is no such thing as being too prepared for worst-case scenarios,” says Superintendent Betty Turpin. “Having more tools, training and other resources for our schools and parents to utilize so they can feel confident that their children are in a safe environment that is ready for any scenario.”

Hour Zero’s main focus is providing health and safety programs for K-12 schools.
They’re also able to provide tools and supports through their website.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to utilize this program and work closely with all of our community partners to help safeguard our students, our staff and respective communities.” says Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator Shane O’Connor. “We will soon have training and other information parents can access so keep an eye out for that in the near future.”

Hour Zero is based out of Edmonton.
