Heat Warning for Northern Alberta This Weekend

Environment Canada says we’ll be expecting some scorching temperatures in areas of northern Alberta starting today and lasting throughout the weekend.

Currently, the heat warning is in effect for areas in Mackenzie County and Wood Buffalo, but the Peace will be seeing higher temperatures as well.

We can expect daily highs upwards of 29 degrees, and minimum overnight temperatures of 14 degrees or above. Temperatures will begin to cool down on Monday morning when a cold front makes its way into northern Alberta.

Environment Canada is reminding everyone to monitor symptoms of heat stroke or heat exhaustion such as lack of sweat, confusion, fainting, and unconsciousness. More heat health advice can be found here.
