Region Five: Peace (Fairview, Falher, Grande Prairie, Valleyview)
• Rain of up to 25 mm slowed harvest progress in some areas and was also accompanied by hail and frost in some parts of
the Region. Combining of all crops in the Peace is 84 per cent complete, behind the 5-year average of 79 per cent.
Canola (75 per cent complete) and oats (83 per cent complete) have the most left to combine.
• Sub-surface soil moisture is currently rated (5-year average) as 0 (18) per cent poor, 7 (24) per cent fair, 77 (43) per cent
good, 16 (14) per cent excellent, and 0 (1) per cent excessive.

The Harvest Season in Alberta is nearing completion.

Alberta Agriculture and Irrigation is saying that 92% of the Crop in the province has been combined.

In the Peace Region, around 85% of the crop is in the bin, which is still 6-10 percentage points ahead of averages.

Combining has slowed down recently because of cooler weather and lower temperatures.

Specifically, Dry Peas are done, Spring Wheat is at 92%, Barley is at 88%, Oats are at 83%, and Canola is three-quarters complete.
