Hands are tied with rising Beef Prices (Kent Holowath)

It’s an added expense just to keep the essentials in life going.

The prices of beef in Alberta are going up again, to add to an already expensive grocery bill.

Supply and demand of the beef and cattle industry are at odds at this point of the calendar year, making the right combination for an already fragile budget even tighter.

With ranchers and farmers in the Peace and Mackenzie region having their hands tied at how the economics work, collaboration between stakeholders and government officials needs to continue to make costs more effective.

That, and insurance premiums and payouts not equaling each other, is making things more difficult to gain the upper-hand.

The Financial Chair of the Alberta Beef Producers, and ranchers in East-Central Alberta, is Kent Holowath.
