Muhktar Ali of Nampa has pleaded guilty to possession for the purpose of trafficking following a 2024 drug arrest in the MD of Smoky River.

The plea was entered on April 10 at the Peace River Court of King’s Bench.

Ali, who faces additional charges, is scheduled to return to court on July 4.

Meanwhile, Alberta Justice has placed stay of proceedings against co-accused Hayes Fuller-Garand of Warburg.

The pair was arrested on June 18, 2024, after McLennan RCMP responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle, which was found stuck in a farmer’s field.

The vehicle, later identified as stolen, contained suspected fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, weapons, ammunition, and stolen property.
