Group Looking To Boost Tourism And Recreation

The Peace Valley Conservation, Recreation and Tourism Society is looking for new ideas to increase tourism and recreation usage along the river.

Sandra Fox, the secretary for the society, says its party of a study they have going on right now.

“We contracted a consultant to do a study on the river to come up with potential recreation uses or tourism uses that may be beneficial to our citizens and to river users.”

Fox adds that they’re looking for people to provide their feedback.

“We’re really looking for public input as far as what do people want, what would they like to see for good recreation use on the river. Do they have some ideas of opportunities for businesses, things like that.”

The Society is putting on some open houses coming up next month as part of this.

They’re taking place on November 18 in Savanna, November 19 in Fairview and November 20 in Rycroft.
