A hockey player from Grimshaw is now playing in the Western Hockey League.
Keets Fawcett is in first season with the Calgary Hitmen and says he’s been having a good time so far.
“The staff and all the players are really welcoming and it’s just a great experience here. It’s a tough league with lost of skill and stuff happens really fast. It takes time but it’s really cool to be around.”
He says when he was growing up, he was a big fan of the Grimshaw Huskies in the NPHL.
“I was there pretty much every game. My grandma usually didn’t let me stay the whole games though since they were pretty late, but I’d go and pick up pucks after warm-ups and stuff. I loved going there.”
Fawcett says he also looked up to his cousin Tulsen Fawcett who played for the North Peace Navigators.
