Grande Prairie, Alta. – On Sept. 22, 2023, after a several-months-long investigation, the Grande Prairie RCMP Municipal Drug Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Grande Prairie.
As a result of the search warrant, Grande Prairie RCMP seized approximately:
- 6.5 kilograms of methamphetamine;
- 945 grams of cocaine;
- 1 gram of fentanyl, and
- 25 kilograms of suspected buffing agent.
As a result of the investigation, Zachery Edwards-Swanson (23), a resident of Grande Prairie, has been charged with the following:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking: Cocaine
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking: Methamphetamine
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking: Fentanyl
Following a judicial release hearing, Edwards-Swanson was remanded into custody and will appear at the Alberta Court of Justice Grande Prairie. on Oct. 2, 2023.
