Grande Prairie RCMP arrest two males in stolen vehicles

Wembley, Alta.- On Oct. 11, 2022, at approximately 1:00 P.M., officers of the Grande Prairie RCMP Crime Reduction Unit located two stolen vehicles at a gas station in Wembley. As a result, two males were arrested after attempting to flee.

A search of one of the stolen vehicles resulted in the seizure of approximately 180 grams of methamphetamine.

John WOLITSKI (33) a resident of Beaverlodge, Alberta has been charged with:

·         Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000

·         Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking

·         Failing to comply with a release order X3

·         Resist arrest

·         Operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited

Dwayne OLSON (24) a resident of Hythe, Alberta has been charged with:

·         Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000

·         Drive while unauthorized

·         Possession of a controlled substance

·         Failing to comply with a release order X4

·         Fail to comply with probation order

At the time of arrest OLSON was wanted on 41 outstanding criminal charges.

Following Judicial Interim release hearings, OLSON and WOLITSKI were remanded into custody to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on October 17, 2022 at 9:00 A.M.
