Grande Prairie Regional College is now Northwestern Polytechnic, and dignitaries are pleased with the new vision.
They are a school based on the trades for the area and beyond.
Dignitaries are saying the expansion of classes, programs and research will drive that vision, with the possibilities are endless.
They also say the goals of staff and students are more achievable than they were, with even more room to grow, especially with demand in the Trades being quite high.
Vanessa Sheane is the Vice President of Academics and Research.
Tony Shmyruk is the Interim Dean of Skill Trades in Fairview.
The new name was unveiled in Grande Prairie, and broadcast virtually in Fairview.
