Freson Bros. Peace River Awarded Community Service Impact Award
(November 23, 2023 – Peace River, Alberta) Freson Bros. Peace River is proud to have been awarded the 2023 Progressive Grocer Impact Award in the category of Community
Service/Local Impact.
The companies throughout North America who were honoured with a 2023 Progressive Grocer Impact Award have all done outstanding work addressing varied issues. Such
far-reaching actions are becoming the norm among grocery industry businesses as the public increasingly demands to know the stories behind the food they buy, as well as how
companies treat their employees and neighbours.
Throughout December 2022, Freson Bros.’ Peace River team launched a series of activities in collaboration with the community to surpass its previous donations for the local food bank.
The store incorporated innovative register campaigns and partnered with Peace River Corrections to encourage community members to donate nonperishable food items. The
Freson Bros. team members’ favourite highlight in 2022 included visiting their local senior homes, spreading holiday cheer with gifts and Christmas cards. All activities were actively promoted through Freson Bros.’ social media channels and in-store point-of-sale materials. These efforts resulted in the store surpassing its previous year’s donation record by 44.5%.

Peace River store manager, attributes the Progressive Grocer Impact Award recognition to the team’s unwavering dedication, “This award is a testament to Freson Bros.’ commitment to supporting our local community.
