Five arrested on Driftpile Cree Nation with multiple charges

On December 16th, the Lakeshore Regional Police Service conducted an investigation on the Driftpile Cree Nation Community for drug trafficking.

The High Prairie RCMP, RCMP Dog Services and RCMP Tactical Response Team assisted in the investigation, with a warrant to search a residence on the Driftpile Cree Nation.

Police searched the residence and seized a quantity of methamphetamine, heroin, prescription pills drug trafficking paraphernalia, firearms, ammunition and electronic storage devices.

The outcome of the search resulted in the arrests of five adults. The charges include; possession for the purpose of trafficking, careless storage of firearm and ammunition, possession of prohibited weapons and breach of release order.

Two adult females were also charged under the Cannabis Act in relation to this investigation. A traffic stop was conducted, resulting in a large seizure of illicit marijuana.

All of the accused have been released and are scheduled to appear in High Prairie Provincial Court on January 25, 2021 and February 8, 2021.
