Administrative Recommendation: That Council appoint David LeBlanc, Julien Bergeron and Ian Cosh as Fire
Guardians for Northern Sunrise County, who shall exercise the powers and duties of Fire Guardian as set out in
the Forest and Prairie Protection Act to the best of their ability, for a period of one year, from April 1, 2022 to
March 31, 2022.
Background:
Subsection 4(2) of Forest and Prairie Protection Act, R.S.A. 2000 states that the Council of a municipal district is
responsible for appointing a sufficient number of fire guardians before April 1 of each year to enforce this Act.

The Forest and Prairie Protection Act requires Council to appoint Fire Guardians on an annual basis.
