A fire advisory has been issued for the Peace River Forest area due to increasingly hot and dry conditions. The fire danger level in the Peace River area is very high. The province has dispersed firefighters, helicopters and air tankers strategically throughout the Peace River area to be able to respond quickly to a fire. There have been 112 fires in the Peace River Forest Area since wildfire season began on March 1st. As of last night, there are 7 active wildfires in the Peace River area.
