High Level is one step closer to construction on a new multi purpose facility after Town Council agreed to a final design that does not exceed the $88 million dollars budgeted for the project. Funding for the construction of the project will see $72 million dollars come from Federal and Provincial Grants while the Town fundraises and borrows the remaining $16 million dollars for the facility.
The multi purpose complex is set to be built at the current outdoor running track facing 105 Avenue and will be on the traditional land of the Dene Tha First Nation. All the facilities in the plan will be built with energy efficiency in mind.
Here is a list of the planned facilities:

An attachment will be created joining the High Level Public School to the facility once it is constructed. Additional parking lots will be created west and south of the facility to accommodate the influx of visitors. In instances of emergency, the planned facility can also serve as a registration and evacuation centre.
Groundbreaking for the 22,000 square metre project could happen as early as Spring 2022 creating 156 new jobs. Construction of the facility is expected to stretch over two years. Click here for the digital brochure and visit the High Level website for further updates.
