Fatal collision on Bushe River First Nation

On Nov. 1, 2021 at 7:43 p.m., High Level RCMP, High Level Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a report of a pedestrian who had been struck by a pick-up truck on Highway 58 within the Community of Bushe River First Nation, approximately four kilometres east of High Level.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the pedestrian was walking in the driving portion of the eastbound lane when he was struck by a pick-up truck which was also eastbound.

The pedestrian, a 33-year old man from Chateh, Alta., was transported by EMS however was pronounced deceased upon arrival to the hospital.

The 65-year-old driver of the pick-up truck from Mackenzie County was not physically injured.

High Level RCMP continue to investigate the collision however no further updates are anticipated and the name of the deceased will not be released.
