UPDATE – Highway 49 is now open to traffic.
The Valleyview RCMP is investigating a two-vehicle collision north of the town.
Just before noon, the Mounties learned of the crash on Highway 49 just south of Township Road 713.
In a media release, the detachment says details are limited but it does know that a cattle hauler and car collided and one person died and another one is believed to have been injured.
Highway 49 near Township 713 is currently closed and traffic is being diverted on the north side of this collision at Township Road 714 and on the south side at Highway 669.
The Valleyview RCMP says it expects the road to be closed for several hours as officers continue their investigation.
