Peace Parent Link is out, and the Family Resource Network is in.

Peace River MLA, Dan Williams was joined by members of town council and staff at the Baytex Energy Centre to tour the facility on the second floor.

Peace Regional FRN Coordinator, Wendy Koene says this program offers different services compared to the former Parent Link program.

“We are doing a home visitation program, which is new,” says Koene.

“We will do some universal programming, but not as much as we have done in Parent Link but the parent education program will continue but in a different way because we are doing virtual meetings now.”

Koene tells the Trending 55 Newsroom that the program started on April 1 and the feedback so far has been very positive.

“The parents we have served so far have had very positive things to say and that is mainly in the parent education portion,” she says.

Williams says he was very impressed by what he saw on his tour.

“It’s great to see the Baytex Energy Centre offering opportunities for families to come in, and the programming the team has here, under Wendy, is terrific,” says the MLA.

“It is really impressive to see the way they can help local families in all sorts of ways.”

The geographical area served by this FRN includes Berwyn, Birch Hills County, Clear Hills, Fairview, The MD of Fairview , Grimshaw, Hines Creek, Little Buffalo, Manning, Nampa, Northern Lights County, Northern Sunrise County, MD of Peace and Peace River.
