RCMP Western Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit investigates drug trafficking in Fairview
Fairview, Alta. – In Sept. 2023, the Western Alberta District (WAD) Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) initiated an investigation into drug trafficking in the town of Fairview. On Oct. 6, 2023, members of the CRU, with the assistance of Fairview RCMP, executed a search warrant at a residence on 101 Street in Fairview. A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine.
As a result of the investigation, Robert Allen (57) and Brittany Salmond (37), both residents of Fairview, have been charged with:
- Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking;
- Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking; and
- Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking.
Allen and Salmond were brought before a justice of the peace and were released on conditions. Their next court appearance is on Oct. 25, 2023, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Fairview.
