
On March 10, Alberta Health Services confirmed 399 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 136,773.
Two people passed away, which means 1,928 Albertans have now died from COVID-19.
254 people are currently in hospital due to COVID.
In the North Zone, there are 12,509 cases of COVID-19 and 140 people have passed away.
There are currently 836 active cases in our zone with 147 in Mackenzie County, 44 in the MD of Greenview, 41 in the MD of Peace, six in the County of Northern Lights, while all other jurisdictions in our area have four or less active cases.
AHS is reporting that 130,382 people have recovered from the virus.
This means that there are currently 4,463 active cases across Alberta.
Outbreaks have been declared at the following facilities:
- Grimshaw/Berwyn Community Health Centre
- Knowledge Tree Childcare Centre, Valleyview
- Peace River Correctional Centre
- Valleyview Health Centre
To help slow spread or ease fear of catching COVID-19, the government recommends washing your hands for at least 20 seconds, and to avoid touching the face.
