On June 8, 2021 Alberta Health Services confirmed 139 additional cases of COVID-19 in the province.
The total number of active cases in Alberta is 4,431.
There are currently 336 people in hospital with the virus and 85 are in ICU.
For active cases in our area; there are 28 in Mackenzie County, 14 in the MD of Peace, five in Big Lakes County while all other surrounding counties and MD’s in our region have four active cases or less.
67% of eligible people in the province have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and 15.1% are fully vaccinated.
The percentage of people around the region receiving at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine is:
- Falher area – 44.9%,
- Peace River area – 41.4%,
- Spirit River area – 39.4%,
- Fairview area – 38%,
- Manning area – 36.9%,
- Valleyview area – 36.6%,
- High Prairie area – 32.7%
- High Level area (Mackenzie County) – 13.4%
