Peace Regional RCMP have laid charges in a stolen vehicle incident that happened on Sunday.

Officers say the vehicle and attached trailer that had been stolen from the area of 74 Street as it was left unattended to warm up.

The vehicle was located a short while later with the trailer nearby.

Jeremy James Worden, a 43 year old resident of Grande Prairie, was located and charged with theft of a motor vehicle, operate a motor vehicle while prohibited to do so, and mischief over $5000.

He appeared in Peace River court yesterday.

Police are urging community members not to leave their vehicles unattended while running; while the need to warm up your engine is understandable, the risk to your vehicle being stolen increases when the vehicle is unoccupied and/or is left unlocked.
