A company called Cold Shot will be taking over bus routes once Greyhound puts the breaks on service in Western Canada at the end of October.
Cold Shot Company Director Sunny Balwaria says the company is taking over passenger and freight services, but with smaller buses and smaller trailers.
Balwaria notes there won’t be any delays in service on November 1.
“There will be no delays and no disruptions on anything,” says Balwaria. “It’s going to be a seamless transition from day one.”
As far as bus schedules go, Balwaria says schedules for certain routes might remain the same, but as the company works on adding buses to new routes, there’s a chance some changes could be made.
“It’s pretty simple,” says Balwaria. “It’s the same formula we learned working with Greyhound – and it’s very sad that they’re closing their doors. We’re going to continue the same platform, but with smaller units. I think that is the new market, because as we all know, ridership is declining, so I think this is the better formula.”
More information on the transition from Greyhound to Cold Shot will be released in October.
